In April 2022 three QIC centres participated in a Norbit Easter Eggmoji AR Hunt. Norbit’s goals for the campaign were:
- Create an enjoyable, memorable and shareable experience for shoppers
- To attract more customer visits to our clients’ shopping centres
- To influence the customer journey and encourage customers to explore around the centre increasing dwell time
The design of Eggmoji AR captures the interest of customers with quirky hints that direct footfall to the locations of the target images placed throughout the centre. At each target, our loveable Emoji eggs are brought to life partaking in various actions including dancing, singing, taking a selfie, playing guitar and more. Customers are given the opportunity to take a picture with the Eggmoji posing in various positions and share it on their Facebook.
Different incentives were used across the QIC assets that participated in the AR hunt. One awarded a prize bag for completing the hunt, another counted each target scanned as an entry into the draw to win a Nintendo Switch.
All three centres had resounding success in their campaign with one centre having to give out points for completing the hunt due to entries outnumbering available prizes. Collectively, all QIC centres kicked their targets out of the park with our engaging Eggmoji Hunt.
This is a compelling example of how AR Competitions have been used to generate large engagement with a Norbit app. Not only that, but they were able to direct foot traffic throughout the centre strategically with the placement of the AR targets.
