ECQ’s brand positioning is all about asking their customers to “discover local”.
In preparation for the launch of Eastern Creek Quarter, the goal for their marketing team was to understand their local customers. Norbit was chosen as their digital engagement tool, and to empower the team to Stop guessing and start knowing.
With the planned March opening delayed with COVID-19, Eastern Creek launched in June, with their Norbit-powered ECQ Rewards app a central piece of their campaign.
Customers were prompted to download the app, and using our QR hunt feature they were guided around the centre to meet their new local retailers, and were rewarded once they visited all. Eastern Creek Quarter tenants experienced a surge of foot traffic and sales, with over 1700 individual retail offers redeemed via the app, with an average spend of $12 – and they achieved this during a short 2 week campaign.
To further communicate Eastern Creek Quarter’s commitment to the safety of their customers, Norbit worked with the marketing team to launch a COVID tracing feature using QR codes across the centre. Customers are encouraged to download the app, and scan the check in point QR codes as they shop with 41 retailers and ECQ Social (activity areas) now set up as active tracking points. Using the app provides a better customer experience, as they do not have to fill in forms at each point, and retailers benefit as customers also receive promotions via the app.
